My wife can not hear me on her iPad using facetime when I call her from my iMac. I have called iPhone users no problem. She can see me but can not hear me. i tried checking the mute button, i tried rebooting nothing working so far.

Ask her try to use the volume buttons to adjust it. Go to Settings>>Sounds, and check if Adjust Volume with buttons is turned on.
Check in Settings>>General>>Restrictions if there is a restriction for volume turned on. If yes, turn it off and set the volume limit as higher as possible.

Thanks for the tip..still not working. Microphone does work with other applications so this is strange. i consider myself technical but have not been able to fix this. I give up...made an appt. with Genious Bar. I only had this iPad 5 months if a part is broken or defected, I am losing my faith in Apple products.
I just tried to facetime my friend at home on his iPad and it worked...issues appears to be at home between the iPad and my iMac...i have used facetime on my iMac before no problems..wierd
