Express product replacement question on an improved iPhone 5 sleep button

My iPhone appears to have almost repaired itself after myself pushing the sleep button continuously, however the sleep button still doesn't work as it should when I push it on the right side of it (the area I use it most). It would appear that it has improved greatly even though the button still does not work as it should do. It's going in for an express replacement very soon, would I need to let anyone know of its improvement and whether or not it will affect me?
