I followed the above directions and my labeled thumbnails are still blank....or show up for a second and then disappear

I still can't restore my iphoto library after I had Apple install a new hard drive. I have always used Time Machine to back up everything with an exrternal hard drive.

Mac OS X (10.5.6)

what version of iPhoto?

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library

I have iPhoto 11 version 9.4.2. I tried those options and it still did not work. I depressed the Command and Option keys and opened up iPhoto.
