A friend of mine has been trying to send me a gift from his iTunes account. Whenever he tries he gets an error saying something about the server not working, try again later. He has tried a number of times over a few weeks to no avail. Any advice?

We're both currently living in New Zealand but both using USA accounts - so I assume USA account to USA account is considered being in the same country..?
Not really... as you will need to be physically within the Country of the Account.
You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country...
Yet none of us have had trouble using our accounts and our USA CCs to purchase things while living in NZ. Why would it be different for buying a gift for a friend?
