an error occured while trying to add the selected printer Error:-9672

I keep getting this message when trying to add my hp 5510 all in one (bonjour) to my printer list. It worked fine until i upgraded my hp all in one device manager and driver (because when printing wirelessly, printing would stop/stall in the middle of the print). Tried uninstalling the new version and tried everything but it seems like a problem with the driver HP all-in-one 3.2. This is the only driver that i can find..did everything from deleting all the com.apple.print files to downloading opensource drivers nothing seem to work to uninstalling, re-installing..Can anyone help?

I have the same problem with an HP 1410 all-in-one. It worked fine on the Airport Express until I contacted HP because I couldn't get the printer utilities to work. They sent me a new driver to download. I installed the new driver and the utilities now work fine -- but the printer won't work on Airport and gives this 9672 error. I contacted HP and they say that this printer does not have the software to work on a network, so forget it. So how come it worked before?

On another thread, people have gotten a 1210 a-i-o to work by downloading a new driver.

You can try this link: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20030915050404405
I tried it and it didn't work, but i suspect that i know why it didn't. You need to have 'printer sharing' enabled in the firewall settings in 'sharing' of the system preferences. What worked for me was that i downloaded the 'HP Linux Inkjet Driver (HPIJS)' link plus the ghost script. Then i tried to add the printer in the 'printer and fax' setup of the system preferences. Then when prompted for device driver i searched under HP for my printer which was now the 'HP officejet 5500Foomatic/hpijs'. Then added it as a bonjour printer, and after enabling 'printer sharing' for my firewall setting it printed. Good luck! Its worth a try!....
