It's working for me - and I've been using Reader for a long, long time. I would try to download it and install it once again. Adobe Reader is the preferred PDF reader for AcroForms designers, as well as anyone who uses LiveCycle Designer or Adobe Acrobat. It will also install a plugin in Safari that will allow you to accurately see a PDF file in a browser window.

Try once again - http://get.adobe.com/reader/.

Call back if you're still having problems.

Probably a good few chices out there but Adobes products are definetly the most well known and probbaly the most well featured. It should work as Clinton states.

Preview should work here also - I do it regularly. what error message does your recipient receive?

But if you really do need export to word then yes, you need to look elsewhere.

Lo and Behold ! Gibberish produced by Mac OS on crashing Adobe Reader !!!

Tried to call Adobe support but it is notorious difficult to contact them.
Preview cannot convert pdf to Word . Can Adobe Reader do that ?

Many mail recipients complain on not being able to read my pdf files which are combined from several pdf

Adobe Reader XI could open my pdf but crashed within 30 seconds or so , leaving a page of code errors. As you can see.

Try this page - http://helpx.adobe.com/reader.html.

Preview cannot convert pdf to Word and I wonder if Adobe Reader can do that.

No - you'd need Adobe Acrobat (or use an online service) to do that - you can take a 30-day 'test drive' of Adobe Acrobat XI from here -> http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=acrobat_pro&loc=us.

I've no idea why Reader would be crashing - did you download the 11.0.01 version? I've not experienced any conflicts with Reader and other apps/fonts/ML. etc.

Sorry that you're having so many problems - as an AcroForms designer, I think that everyone should be using Adobe Reader for PDF files, of course.
