My ical has frozen whilst "importing entourage data", how do I close it/force quit?

My ical has been "importing entourage data" for a few hours now and will not let me close it or pause/stop or even quit. There's no option to force quit and when I close down my mac the ical stops it from closing down.

How can I stop importing and close or carry on using my ical?
