Mac Mini and 30 inch Dell monitor 3007WFP. Can't get more than 1280 x 800

I have a 2010 Mac Mini with DisplayPort and HDMI outputs. I have a 30 inch Dell monitor 3007WFP. I've tried the DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI and the HDMI to Dual Link DVI and can't get more than 1280 x 800. No other choices. My old PC Tower with XP got 2560 x 1600

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

It seems that the Mac Mini cannot run a 30 inch monitor at the native 2560 x 1600 resolution. Only 1280 x 800 which looks awful. It's not enough to use the HDMI to DVI adapter or the Mini Display Port to DVI adapter. You have to fork over the $99 to Apple for the Mini Display Port to DVI "converter" adapter. Bummer. You might find knock off versions for around $70.
