Q: How to turn on Apple TV with iPhone remote app

I can't turn on my Apple TV. I have lost the remote and have the remote app. It has worked in the past but I haven't turned on my Apple TV in a while. Now I can get it to work. I have home sharing on my it doesn't see the Apple TV.. Help

When you fire up the Remote app, once you select the Apple TV icon, try hitting the Menu option on the remote app, the Apple TV should power up. That's how it works for me.

Welcome to the Apple Community.

If the remote app isn't connecting to the Apple TV and you need to set it up again, you can only do so with the original Apple remote. You can get them from any Apple Store.
