Hello,

Quite a simple question really. I have just purchased a new laptop, and want to download all my music, photos etc. from my i-pod touch to the laptop. I have installed the latest version of i-tunes on the new laptop but cannot see any obvious way of doing a download. If I try to do a synch, a dialouge box tells me if I synch, it will erase all the data on the i-pod touch and transfer the data (of which there is none obviously) from the laptop to the i-pod.

So, is there a way of doing a download from i-pod to laptop?

Tref.

The safest way to do this would be to copy your itunes library to an external drive. For the purposes of this excersize the new Laptop would be the external drive

Here is the support article

Then you could erase the iPhone and resync it without losing any content.

If this option is not open to you then this article contains ways to get your content off your iPod
