sync bookmarks

How do I sync the bookmarks on my computer to my iPhone?
Used to be able to but it now just tells me it does so automatically.
It doesn't do it automatically nor is there an option on my phone to sync bookmarks.

Please fix or tell me what I need to do.
And if you tell me to install an app I will not be amused.

this unfortunately did not work for me. initially, my Safari on my macbook pro was syncing perfectly through sept. 2013. ever since then, nothing, including my history and bookmarks, from safari on my mac will sync anymore with the safari first on my iphone 4s and now my iphons 5s. i've already turned off the syncing options on both devices, turned them back on and restarted both devices, as per the suggestions from another post. STILL NOTHING. And with the update to the iOS on iphone as a few months ago, there is no longer the option to turn on and off the safari book sync options under settings on the iPhone or on iTunes.

Same issue - same crazy solution - THANKS.

Summary - I have an iPhone 5S and a PC with Internet explorer. Apple will make you believe you can sync your PC bookmarks to the iPhone automatically with iCloud. No matter what you try, this will not work. In fact if you try, you will no longer be able to sync manually. So this fis will let you semi-automatically sync you PC bookmars to your iphone. With the correct settgings (mentioned above), just plug your iPhone into your PC, and the bookmarks update automatically - forget about the iCloud WIFI updating business (I spent hours on the phone with Aplle - ain't gonna happen.

As inidcated above, do two things: 1) on your phone turn off Safari in the iCloud settings; 2) on your PC with your phone plugged in, in iTunes under the info tab, turn on the sync Bookmarks with Internet Explorer. I t will then sync right away, and next time you plug your phone in, it will sync automatically. Good luck

thanks for these suggestions. unfortunately, they won't work for me because i am on a Mac and Macs do not use Internet Explorer. And yes, I don't count on iCloud to sync my bookmarks AND i do plug my phone into my macbook to sync with my iTunes almost everyday. Since the iOS update, there is no longer an option in iTunes to turn on the "sync bookmarks" with any kind of internet browser. that's kind of the problem!

Indeed it is a problem. Apple wants Mac users to rely on iCloud for these synchs. Until Apple tells us unequivocally that government spying cannot occur with iCloud I refuse to send anything to iCloud. I want full control over what I synch and I want it to travel over a private USB cable, not to some mystery cloud resource that is wide-open to the NSA, GHQC and Lord knows who else.

Common Apple! Are you willing to tell me you are 100% secure? If not give us back full manual synching of our devices through iTunes.
