Jan 23, 2013 9:10 AM in response to Aggsbaggsby King_Penguin,How are the photos getting onto the SD card, and what capacity is the card. If it's a large SDXC card that is formatted as ExFAT then it won't be recognised. If you are copying the photos onto the card yourself via your computer's iTunes then you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card with the photos underneath it with filenames exactly 8 characters long plus their extension

Mar 29, 2013 6:17 AM in response to Aggsbaggsby Texas Mac Man,Here's an alternative method.
Transfer the pics to your computer. Then use a USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Mar 29, 2013 6:51 AM in response to Aggsbaggsby Ralph9430,Does the camera have a USB port? Plug the Camera Connection Kit into the iPad and plug the USB cable into the Camera Connection Kit and the camera. Turn on the Camera.
