Can't download EPSON printer software (update) from apple update server

I'm trying to install my newly bought Epson R3000 on my LAN. Trying to do so (System preferences -> Print & Scan -> Add Printer or Scanner -> IP -> Add) I get the message (always, during more than a week):

Can't install the software for the EPSON Epson Stylus Photo R3000 because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.

So searching this forum I tried to download the newest Epson Printer Drivers from: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US This is also not downloading.

What is wrong?? Epson Benelux doesn't help.

With all that you have performed already you could have driver conflicts in your Mac. So open Finder and in the menubar select Go > Go to Folder and then type /Library/Printers and press GO. This will take you to the Printers folder where you should see the Epson folder (could be written in upper case). Open this Epson folder, select all the contents and trash them. Then restart your Mac and after logging back in, try to add your printer again.

Hi PAHU,

You were right, after deleting the content of the EPSON folder the software downloaded and installed, but gave the next message:

After this it was possible to print via USB (after plugging in the USB cable). After unplugging the USB cable I started again System Preferences -> adding printer, and tried to add it in the next screen and this worked out!! (the same at my wifes iMac, on Lion).

Thanks you all for helping me!

Thnx for the fast reply. I tried it, it took 15 minutes to download. I don't know why so long, but after all it was downloaded. But, it doesn't work out, even not after a restart. Adding a printer wants to download the software by itself, so I get the same message. Would it be possible that it is caused by a time-out, because the download takes to long? If so, how do I solve that? If not???
