Do i have to buy Microsoft Office for Mac in order to transfer my windows files?

What type of files? If you want to use Office files on your MacBook Air, you can purchase Office for Mac, but you can also use iWork or LibreOffice.

If you want to transfer other files, you don't need anything. Just download Windows Migration Assistant on the PC and follow the steps > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4796

Thanks for your quick response! I just have a few saved documents, for example my resume which was done in Word, to transfer. I plan on using ipages when I get my computer - I was just hoping I can move them over and open them without having to buy the extra ssoftwear.
