Why is my iPad running slow?

My iPad 2 is running reallyy slow. I've tried everything. I have deleted apps, made sure I closed out all apps completely and I have reset it multiple times. My wifi is connected and I have no problem using wifi on my other computer. And my iPhone works fine. But my iPad says it is connected to the Internet but it will say it has no connection when I open Safari or my Facebook app. Please help!
