When placing a video call, the person on the other end can see me, but not hear me. I can see that there is a line through the microphone. Help!

The icon being displayed indicates that there is no microphone connected to your Facetime Application.. You should make sure that you have the internal microphone selected on your MacB Pro. On my Snow Leopard operating system I would select the internal mic by clicking on "Video" on the top menu when I'm using the Facetime App, and then selecting internal microphone.

Also check that you have "inernal mic" selected in system preferences, and have the mic volume turned up to about half way.

Thank you, this is a beginning step. I am running Lion on a MacPro, when in FaceTime, I did as you suggested, going to Video on top of the menu bar, when I click on Video, there is no "internal mic" only:

Microphone: Line-In; Digital-Out; Logitech camera. "Mute" is grayed out.


It does appear that my computer microphone is working. I am using an external camera, so possibly I need to select that in the microphone preference.
