OK folks, I had no problem with printing wirelessly from my Macbook to an Epson Workforce 635 - until the latest Mt. Lion update (10.8.2).  Shortly after that I lost connectivity.  Other laptops running Lion and Mt. Lion have no problem.  System cannot locate the printer - although it found the store printer at the Genius Bar via Bonjour.  No issues with USB connection - but it shows the printer is already there when trying to add it - yet no printer appears in the list and therefore non can be added over the network.  Somehow it is hidden?  Removed printer from the list early on - but can not find any to add.  Have gone through various reboots, restarts, etc., on network (AP Extreme).  All else works fine - I just cannot find a printer to add and get back to printing wirelessly.  Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.  TIA.

    Have you tried resetting the Printing System? To do this go to System Preferences> Print & Scan. Then go to the printer list pane box do a right click (place 2 finger in trackpad and click). You should see an option to Reset the Printing System, click it. Follow the pop up box instructions that will ask to reset the printing system. Once the process is done, try to see if the printer can be added again.

    Thanks for the suggestion, but.... no success.  Still cannot show any printers/scanners except thost that are directly connected.

    Ok, just an idea... Have you checked if your printer is sucessfully connecting to your wireless network? You may want to reset the printer and re-program its Wifi Network Settings. I don't know how that works on EPSON but at home I have a Lexmark Printer that connects wirelessly and the only way to change the printer's Wifi settings is by connecting it to the computer via USB and running the wireless set up assistance included in the Printer's scanning and faxing software. Check if you can reset your Wifi settings in your printer.

    The printer is connected to the network since other devices including a laptop running Lion and an iPad have no problem pro ting over the network.  This seems to be confined to my laptop running Mt. Lion following the latest update to 10.8.2.  A bit frustrating to say the least.  USB connection is not practical.

    I would suggest trying to re-install the OS X 10.8.2 Update via the Apple Combo Updater. You can find that in the following link:

    Unfortunately, I can't guarantee the combo updater on working since Apple released a suplemental update to OS X that has a higher build number (12C60) than the combo updater (12C54)

     

    There's also an Apple article that deals with printer problems and suggest a number of steps. I suggest following the suggestions on this article before trying the combo updater.

    You may also want to contact EPSON support since they are the printer manufacturers and know how these behave on networked configurations.

    Sounds like you are having an issue with Bonjour on this Mac. Instead of using this protocol you could try another protocol available to the Mac. You would need to know the IP address of the printer and the drivers would have to support this alternate connection method. Assuming the later is true and you do know the IP address of the Epson, you can open Print & Scan and click the plus to add. Then with the Default view displayed, select the IP icon. Enter the IP address of the Epson and then change the Protocol menu to HP Jetdirect-Socket. Leave the Queue name blank and change the name to something more meaningful than the IP address. Leave the location blank and then select the Epson 635 driver in the Use menu. Click Add to complete the queue creation. Now see if this prints.

    Adding to PAHU's suggestion, your best bet to find your Epson's printer IP address is by going to your wireless router page. You can access this page on your browser and then look for a section that lists all connected devices.

     

    You can also determine your printer's IP address with an app called Fing which works for iPhone, iPad, and Android. The app has a ridiculously easy to use UI.

    Nice seeing you again in the Apple Forums! I remember back in 2011 when you helped me solve an enigmatic error log message in the CUPS printing system after updating my computer to OS X 10.6.6. That solution worked splendidly, and the error messages went away after suggesting me to "reset the printing system".

    Well, to bring this to closure, I ended up contacting Epson Tech Support.  I ran through process to delete all printers and reset printer menu, check to be sure printer and MacBook were on same gateway (they were), and also pinged the printer (100% packet loss - access denied) and gateway (100% packet received, no loss).  Readded printer to network in the process.  Still didn't work.  Called Apple Tech support, gave them the rundown, then restarted Extreme (thought I had already done that!!)  It worked.  Guess after all the restarts of printer, resetting printer menu, etc, I should have then restarted router.  Well, I know what to do if it happens again.  My thanks to all who commented as it helped to get me going in the right direction!
