Mar 1, 2013 9:42 AM in response to jamezmbpby tomtom85,Just so you all know..
It's not just the 2013 models doing this. I have a late 2012 (built december) 2.6ghz 8gb model and it has exactly the same behavious as you all describe. Thought it was Utorrent as when I closed this it got better but its back just as bad now.

Mar 1, 2013 10:12 AM in response to jamezmbpby john500y2k,I know apple are using two sources for their SSD: Saumsung & Sandisk
There is another thread on this community where there has been a post where they have seen reports that a model with the fan problem had a Sandisk SDD and when swapped with a Samsung one the problem went away.
HOWEVER that's one post one report. All I know is that my faultless 2012 model had a Samsung the last 2 out of my 4 2013 models had Sandisk I believe. I never did test the first 2 as I wasn't sure where the problem lied.
Might be interesting whether the people with the problematic 2012 model identified which SSD they have. See if it can be narrowed down.

Mar 1, 2013 10:23 AM in response to peppie55by john500y2k,Oh in that case I can confirm then that all 4 of my 2013 with issues had a Sandisk drive. I saw those details on each machine but always thought it was a terminal command to get then details. Which I did on my last two machines.
Struggling to find that terminal command again.

"Model: APPLE SSD SD256E"
Has anyone called AppleCare that is within their 90 day phone support period?
I use to work the phones there, way it works is … if they can't fix the issue they bump the case up to engineering; the more hits engineering gets on this issue… the more likely we are to get a resolution if this can be resolved via firmware update
I'll be calling on Monday when I get some free time
