Mar 21, 2013 3:47 AM in response to jamezmbpby xmlsheldo,I have the 13in rMBP ( 3 weeks old ). I installed the MLion updates and the fans have improved but still tempermental. Safari seems to manage it better. Whenever i run chrome + HD Yourtube = noisy fans... im talking 7000rpm. Full overnight apple hardware test came back with no errors. The fix has to be a software one right? why did they put out a 15in fix but no 13? Anyone else with 13in and having fan problems?

Did Apple say why they banned you? It seems unfair if it was related to you reporting this bug. While the publicity was probably bad for Apple it's their fault for not discovering the bug prior to shipping the product.

Mar 31, 2013 3:14 PM in response to jamezmbpby jenspeter_secher,Retina MacBook 15": fan problems *after* SMC update?
My MacBook 15" Retina (Mid 2012) has *never* had any fan problems.
But on 2013-03-30 (I believe) the fans started to give an annoying noise, which only stops when powering down. It is a constant noise that is there regardless of what processes are running on the machine.
From SystemInformation/Software/Installations (date sorted), I can see that an SMC update has been installed on 2013-03-24.
Data points: I have now installed the app "System Monitor" which reports that both left and right fan run at approximately 2000 RPM (and CPU temperature is 36C). Is that normal?
My question is, can the SMC update have caused this problem?

Mar 31, 2013 4:22 PM in response to jenspeter_secherby peppie55,I dont't think so, maybe your fans caught some dust?
Is it really loud? Is it a constant beep or a buzz?
