What exactly does not work? If you'll provide full details as to the problem and what you've tried to remedy it, we may be able to provide suggestions.

And who told you that the warranty would not be honored in the UK? Unlike the iPhone, the iPad warranty is usually international as long as you didn't buy a country-specific model (the Verizon and Sprint models sold in the US, for instance).

Again, provide full details, preferably using proper spelling and punctuation so that we can understand what you're saying, and we may be able to assist.

Thanks for your kind responses.

Actually i was using T-mobile network sim in uk. it was not catching up to the speed compared to the other ipads. The wifi works great but the 3g sim works but bit slow on ipad compared to others.

Is there any network specific thing to be considered.

I walk in to the apple store and asked them to check the ipad and informed me that there were some waves problem (difference in network waves or signals based on the country) and they cant fix or replace it here as it was bought form u.s.a !!!

The interenational warrenty cant help me in this case ?

Any suggestions are welcome !!!

That should not be the case if you purchased a GSM model iPad, not the CDMA (Verizon or Sprint) model. The GSM models are, to the best of my knowledge, identical in every country. Is your iPad an A1459 or an A1460 model (it will say on the back)?

That would be the GSM model, then, which from what I can tell is identical in all countries, so the warranty should be valid in the UK. I don't speak for Apple, though, and ultimately it's their decision.

It just being slow in 3G when used with Vodaphone may well not be a hardware fault and hence not warranty issue, though. Try resetting the network; Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. Then see if matters improve. If that doesn't help, try resetting the iPad itself:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430

and if that doesn't work try restoring it:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

If you try restoring from a backup and that doesn't fix the problem, try restoring to factory settings and synching your apps. You'll lose the app data and settings, but if the problem is due to a corrupt cache or settings file, that should cure it.

If none of that helps, then it may indeed be a hardware fault, though someone else here may have other suggestions. For the warranty issue, try a different Apple Store or call Apple support directly. You may get a different response re. warranty support.

actualy "varjak paw" has the totally wrong info according to apple website the model A1459 will only work in usa,canda,mexico... while the model A1460(verizon) will work in most of countries (usa,autralia,uk,europe,etc...)

further more apple store in the uk only sell the model A1460 ONLY ! as this's the one that would work there and in most countries u can double check that with the store they'll tell you they dont even have that A1459 model

Also A1459 is gsm that's correct but so is A1460 ,the difference is that A1460 also has the ability to work on CDMA

see below (copied from apple website) :

Wi-Fi + Cellular

  • Model A1459*
    • GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
    • UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    • LTE (Bands 4 and 17)
  • Model A1460*
    • CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    • GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
    • UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    • LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5, 13, 25)
  • Data only3
  • 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi (802.11n 2.4GHz and 5GHz)
  • Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology

so it shows clearly the difference , u can check the "part number" which's specified on the reciept

uk+ majority of other countries have the following part number : ME407 (plus country codes ,example:B or AE ,etc) , in USA model 1460 has the same part number (ME407 ) while A1459 part number is :ME401 which's not sold any where else but USA.

i don't know how u'll be able to solve ur problem but the reason why it's slow 's that this model won't be able to have LTE connection outside USA so it goes to GSM/EDGE connection which 's slower than the LTE.

The OP said that he was trying to use the iPad on a 3G network, and the 3G/GSM specs are identical between the models. There is no indication that the OP was trying to compare his GSM performance with someone else's on LTE.

according to apple website the model A1459 will only work in usa, canda, mexico.

Incorrect. It only officially supports LTE in those countries, but it will work on GSM just about anywhere (there may be a few GSM carriers that use different frequencies).

And this thread is from back in January. Just FYI.
