email attachments

When composing an email, double tap on an empty space. Then some options will appear like select, selectall, paste. You should see and arrow to the right side. tap it and you'll see the option to add attachments.

What kind of files?

Unfortunately apple doesn't allow users to do that. But if you wanna attach a pdf file in your iBooks apps, you have the option inside the iBooks app.
