Purchasing additional space won't make the back up upload any faster.

Jan 23, 2013 2:03 PM in response to Winston Churchillby Betzmoe,I realize that I merged two issues - am frustrated that I had to purchase backup power (twice) AND that my phone says will take 36 more hours to finish -- is that correct? Will it really take that long? Ugh!

Jan 23, 2013 2:20 PM in response to Betzmoeby cheonweb,You can't purchase backup "power". You purchased "space" for your iCloud.
What is the upload speed of your Internet connection?
How many MB or GB you have to upload from your iPhone? Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Manage Storage>your iPhone name> see "Next backup size".

Jan 23, 2013 2:49 PM in response to Betzmoeby Winston Churchill,The first back up to iCloud may take some considerable time. Just how long isn't really possible to say without knowing how much is in your back up and your connection speed.
What many people don't realise is that upload speeds are often significantly less than download speeds, so for example a user may have a download speed of 40 Mbps, but only 1 Mbps for uploading. As a rough guide it will take around 2 ¼ hours to upload 1 GB of data at 1 Mbps.
