ComCast recently (and without notification to its customers) started blocking port 143 for IMAP. I need to set up an additional non-encrypted IMAP port to listen on. I was unable to find a line in the configuration to do that. I would imagine it's similar to the alternate port we set up for SMTP. Can somebody tell me what the directive is?
/etc/cyrus.conf
change
imap cmd="imapd" listen="imap" prefork=0
to
imap cmd="imapd" listen="1143" prefork=0
(or whatever port you want)
stop/start mail service
As I stated in my original question, I need to set up "an additional" port. Your solution only changes the existing port.
try this in cyrus.conf
leave exising in place:
imap cmd="imapd" listen="143" prefork=0
add a new line:
imap2 cmd="imapd" listen="1143" prefork=0
(notice, it starts with imap2)

This didn't work. Port not open.
Disregard. Edited the wrong cyrus.conf file. Works fine.
Need to set up alternate IMAP port...
