My husband dropped his iphone4 in melted wax. It had a cover on it but it fell in on battery charging side. He can make calls, receive calls, charge the phone but noone can hear him. Any suggestions (aside from throwingit against the wall - lol)

you either need to replace the phone, pay to see if someone can repair it, or try to remove the wax. The mic is the group of small holes left of the lightning port.
EDIT: just noticed you have an iPhone 4, not iPhone 5. Same situation, but not a lightning port. But, iPhone 4 is an older phone anyway. This situation sounds like a good excuse to get a new phone.
