App acting differently on iPhone 4 vs 4s

I have an app that uses location services when in the background. It works fine on the iPhone 4 but not on the 4s. The app is still in memory, but quits working. Both phones have iOS 6.0.1. Any ideas? Why would it work differently between 4 and 4s given the same iOS?
