How do I get my music files only out of Time Machine?

I backed up my Macbook Pro on my Time Machine before I sold it. Now I would like to get information off my Time Machine (such as music, documents and photos). Is there a way I can open up Time Machine and get to these specific documents?

Cheers,

Andrew

Yes you can. If you have a new Mac you can migrate data to the new Mac from the Time Machine backup so your data is all available. If not then you can use any system that will read the Time Machine drive's "HFS+" format (usually a Mac, but there are some Windows drivers for reading the HFS+ format), and then browse the Time Machine drive to copy files off of it. The backups are sorted by date, so go to the most recent one and your files should be organized within each backup as they were on your old Mac.
