iPod touch hasn't synced since last May, 2012.

I now have the very latest itunes also. My ipod will not sync or anything, the only thing it can do is be charged. I've tried EVERYTHING. I've been looking up on the internet for months on how to fix this too but nothing. If anyone can help somehow it would be soo appreciated. this is all the music i;ve been collecting for 6 years now. Thanks!
