It seems that the ColorSync utility in OSX 10.5.8 will not recognize my Microsoft Lifecam VX-5000, even though it shows up in my system profiler and iChat will display a preview taken through the webcam.
So it seems that I cannot profile this webcam. Any ideas or workarounds?

of course it wont, thats a video camera. Colour sync is for graphics files.
If that's true then how is it I profiled my MONITOR using colorsync, and that it offers to set profiles for cameras as well?
It is NOt just for graphics files, but for DEVICES as well.
sorry, silly mistake, I should have said; Colour Sync works with graphic files and devices, and not work with video files or devices.
The camera listing in Colour Sync is for specialist still cameras for imaging in the graphics and paint industry.
The only way to colour correct a video camera is with supplied Applications specific to the camera.
