I just purchased the newest nano, however i was unaware that i needed to upgrade my itunes in order to do so. Now in order to upgrade to the right version of itunes i need to move from 10.5.8 to atleast 10.8. Could someone help me out? I'm not too familar with any of this and terms such as snow leopard and mountain lion mean close to nothing to me, if you know what I mean.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

SL is version 10.6.x, the next step from Leopard (10.5)

    10.7 is Lion

    10.8 is Mountain Lion

But if you are correct in reporting PPC processor, you can go no higher than 10.5.x

Please do "About this Mac"  from your Apple menu. Reprot what is says for the Mac OS version AND the processor info. If it reports your processor as a "PowerPC like this:

you cannot upgrade higher than OS 10.5.8 "Leopard." If it says you have an Intel processor like this:

you can upgrade to at least 10.6.8 "Snow Leopard" and maybe farther, depending on some extra info we'll need to get from you.
