My macbook pro wont let me log into my account but will let me log in as a guest user. It get to the grey screen after I enter my password and will have a bar below the apple symbol that will get about a third along and will disapear and shut down

My macbook pro wont let me log into my account but will let me log in as a guest user. It gets to the grey screen after I enter my password and will have a bar below the apple symbol that will get about a third of the way along the bar then will disapear and the macbook restarts.
