What are the steps in moving Eudora folders to Mac Mail on MacOS 10.5.8

Have so far been unsuccessful in moving my Eudora 6.2.4 email folder to Mac Mail on my MacG5 PPC with MacOS 10.5.8. Has anyone been successful in doing that? Would it be better to make this transfer using MacOS 10.5.8 or MacOS 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro? My folders are currently on my MacG5 system.
