My iPod touch 4th gen 8GB turns on when I connect it to a power source, but refuses to charge. A couple of days ago, I was charging with, (yes, I admit it) a cheap AC - USB adapter. It felt hot for a while after that. I also know that I can get it replaced for AUS$89 with the Out of Warranty Service. I was hoping if there there was anyway to fix it?
PS: I tried putting it in the fridge, maybe slightly more power

- Try another cable
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.
I have also been having this with my fourth gen touch and have tried everything. I don't have an apple store within 1,100 miles of where I live. What do I do? Sorry that I didn't make my own post. My iPod charges about half of the time.
I tried it with about 3 different cables. I doubt there's anything wrong with the cable. I tried charging it at a computer and with a proper AC charger. Nothing is working. According to the battery replacement, I can only get a completely new or used and refurbished one instead, meaning I lost a lot of my time spent on Steambirds.
