Jan 24, 2013 10:39 AM in response to Mike1mossby Frank Caggiano,Manual will un-gray once you manually arrange the order of your images.
That is once you drag one image into a different place in the Browser then you have created a manual sort order and the button will be selected. If you then go to a different sort order (say by size) the manual sort order will be remembered and can be retrieved by selecting manual sort.

Jan 24, 2013 10:39 AM in response to Mike1mossby Kirby Krieger,"Manual" will restore a manual sort after you have navigated away from it by selecting another of the sorts. It is grayed out because there is no manual sort currently saved for the selected container. If you wish to manually sort your Images, simply do so with the mouse. Once a manual sort for a container has been set, it will be remembered, and can be restored by selecting "manual" from the sort drop-down.

You will not find it, Mike. You posted this thread as a discussion, not a question, so there is no "This solved my Problem". Theer two different kind of threads - discussions and question. You can award points only for questions.
I just tried to answer your other question, but it vanished, after I posted my answer Re: in Aperture 3.4.3 how do you sort photos manually?

Léonie

Jan 24, 2013 11:56 AM in response to Frank Caggianoby Mike1moss,Hi Frank
Sorry about the 2 similar threads, I was seeing lots of iPhoto info in the right side of the screen with the 1st one so I specified aperture 3.4.3.
I will be more careful in my 1st question in the future and make sure to mark my thread as a question so I can award points.
