Desparately need help with my iphone 3g

I recently performed an update on my iphone 3g but in the process of restoring iphone i got an error saying "this iphone could no be restored" please help need my phone desparately

Thanks for the response. I will try to restore from backup to see if it will work. I am using a different computer where my phone wasn't backed up on.
