Safari doesn't keep history

Good Morning,

I have a problem with Safari ( Safari 6.0.2 - Mac os 10.8.2), because it doesn't keep history when i close it.

I tried to reset safari, delete the preferences, but the problem remains.

The strange thing, is that there are saved 3 days of november (2012) in history,

and when i reset safari or delete the preferences these remain, but new sites are not saved.

I also have checked safari preference,

and in the history panel say : "delete hystory after one years".

Can someone help me ?

Sorry for my english.

Thanks very much.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), Safari 6.0.2

Triple-click the line below to select it:

~/Library/Safari/History.plist

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

Services Show Info

from the contextual menu. An Info dialog should open.

Does the dialog show "You can read and write" in the Sharing & Permissions section?
In the General section, is the box labeled Locked checked?
What is the Modified date?

Thanks very much Linc Davis !

Before receiving your reply, i tried to move History.plist file on the Desktop.

When i re-opened Safari, it worked !!

After your reply, i copied the original Hystory.plist file from the Desktop

to ~/Library/Safari/ and i noticed that the modified date field was : 12 November 2012.

I then checked the Sharing & Permission section and there was written : Personalized.

I changed the "everyone" field from Personalized to Read&Write, and now Safari keeps in memory the history !!!

I don't understand how this happened !

Thanks so much again !!! ;-)

HI, Linc Davis

I have a question,

i followed your instruction, and the dialog box that appeared showed "the coperation can't be completed because the item can't be found."

and i also tried to find the history.plist in library, but i couldn;t found it as well.

what i found in the ~library/safari folder just the a folder named "extension"

the other problem I have is my bookmarks also keep dissappearing.

PS:

1. I used the latest OS X 10.9 Mavericks, (just updated couple days ago)

2. and my problem exist since the first time I used this Mac, (bought it this february in authorized Apple Store)

Thank you 😀
