I just got one, the display is indeed better than any other but I miss the DVD player and most importantly it doesn't say macbook pro at the bottom of the screen and no comments about being a retina display unit. Is that correct? or I got a chinese version? (ie knock off)
The computer is kind of plain, just the apple in the cover and nothing else. It doesn't say that it's a macbook pro

The "Macbook Pro" label should now be on the bottom of the case for Retina models. If you bought it at a reputable source (eg, Apple, or a known retailer) it certainly should be a genuine Apple.

The case does says macbook pro, although the case is a lot cheaper than my previous Macs, no handle, different casing and it looks cheap in general.
I don't know how to respond to that, other than to point you at a gallery of the Retina MBP:

Don't think Mac laptops have had a handle since ... the original iBooks, in about 2000.

I was talking about the box, the box doesn't have a handle and it look cheap.
I stopped at the Apple store and saw the new Macbook pros with retina display, they don't say anywhere what they are.
I paid almost 4 grand for a device that you can't tell which model it is. The new CEO gotta go.....
