My Remote Deskstop stopped working!

All of a sudden my Remote Desktop will not connect to my other computer any longer, is is always saying offline. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, double checked firewalls and IP addesses. Both my Macs are up to date with 10.8.

Anyone have any ideas?

Are the computers on the same local network? or is this over the internet?

If connected to the same local network, is both computers connected to the network in the same way? (both on ethernet or both on wifi)

in ARD, have you tried deleting the computer and then re-adding it?
