How to change saved iTunes password?

I had recently saved my iTunes password so I didn't have to reenter it every time I started iTunes. I had to change my password and now iTunes wont let me save my new password over my old one so it always tells me that I've tried to enter the incorrect password and then gives me the option to enter the new one. But it still won't give me the option to save it.

Is there any way to fix this without deleting iTunes in its entirity?

Ive already tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing the laptop and it hasn't worked.
