Is my HP Photosmart C4795 All N One printer comparable with my Apple ipad 3rd generation?

I did not find my specific HP Printer on the list but there are others close to mine ? Is there any chance nine could work with my Apple iPad 3rd Ge relation 32GB?

I purchased my mother an Apple 1 Ipad with 32 GB and cellular phone capability but it came without the SIMS card? What do I need to do to get it online with the 3G cellular capabilities? Does it matter if we use AT&T OR VERSION.AND WHAT IS THE COST PER MONTH TO USE IT.? Will this allow her to stay connected any where any time? If not, how do you set it up to get the Hot Spot signals? Sorry but I know nothing about how all this technology works. We have not found a way to get her device online from her apartment complex. The manager says she cannot use their private cable so now we need to try AT&T . But are there others services we could use to activate her Apple IPad online for a few? I cannot believe that cable and AT&T are the only means to get her IPad online? There mut be private services in our area somewhere? We are in Columbia, SC?

I hope someone can help me find service for my 91 year young Mother so she can learn to do her banking and enjoy the fun applications I downloaded for her? Can you use the applications like games without being online? I look forward to you Savvy users who can help me get mother online and determine if I can use my wireless HP PhotoSmart Printer with my Apple Ipad . I hope mine is not bad luck and will not be comparable with my new printer. I would have waited on getting a wireless printer if I had known I would get an iPad that would print provided you have the proper printer.

I know someone will be kind enough to help me in spite of my ignorance with these basic technology issues that every user should know, lol And I will be grateful for your expertise and assistance. I love m ipad but feel so lost when it comes to knowing and enjoying all of the benefits it is capable of that I have no idea how to use. I am just a Happy Camper to get online. I hope to learn how to sync my Amazon account with my Kindle, so I will not have to have two different accounts. But, I will try to take one step at a time and my first priority is to get Mothers ipad working online so she can enjoy using it. I know it will be good for her to help occupy her time when she gets lonely and bored.

Best wishes for a blessed and prosperous New Year!

If your printer is not listed in the list of AirPrint enabled printer here

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356

Then your printer does not support AirPrint. You might google XPrintServer to see if that device supports your printer. Or search the App Store for printing apps. There may be one there to help you out.

I would creat a new question for your other topics since folks will only see the question about printing.

Printer: if the printer is not on the airprint list, then no it will not work with air print. assuming it is wireless, youmay be able to use HP's app to print from the iPad. It supports many, but not all, wireless HP printers. Read the description carefully. there are also some other priont apps that may be useful.

Wireless Service: Yes, it matters. iPads are produced in the US for specific carriers. You will need to determine which you have to determine what servioce level are available at what cost, set up a plan with that carrier.

Internet connectivity: You have to have internet service and a wireless router to connect to the internet (unless you are using a cellular service, of course). If her current cable service doesn't include internet, that would need to be added, or look into DSL (with her phone company). Whether or not you need internet connectivity depends on the app. Many games will function just fine off line, but banking will require internet connectivity.

All iPads can connect to Wi-Fi. If you can get Wi-Fi in your moms home she would have continuous connectivity there.

Ipad 1st generation models came in two varieties, wifi only and wifi plus cellular.

wifi plus Cellular iPads of the 1st generation came in two flavors, AT&T and Verizon.

I'll also note that a cellular iPad is not a phone. It cannot make regular cellular phone alls or send text messages. There are some apps that get around this but in general it's best to realize that a cellular iPad connects to a cell tower as a means of accessing the web.

The AT&T iPad uses a SIM card and will have a sim slot in which to put the card. If your iPad has a sim slot it is an AT&T iPad. Contact AT&T about getting a SIM card and setting up a cellular account if your mom expects to use the iPad while traveling.

The Verizon iPad did not have a sim slot. Contact Verizon about setting up a cellular account if your mom expects to use the iPad while traveling.

You cannot change the cellular provider on an iPad 1st generation.

All iPads can be used when not online. Some apps do require that the iPad be connected but most do not. Of course apps to do banking, send email or surf the web require the iPad be connected to the web either via Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
