Ten devices. See the following. It also say how to disassociate a device.

10 devices for downloading past purchases, automatic download, or iTunes Match. There is no limit if the devices are all just synchronized via iTunes on a computer, though I can't imagine too many scenarios outside of a company or school where someone would use more than 10.
