Cursor changes to a ⟵ .

When working in Safari or MS Office, the cursor will change to a ⟵ [left arrow] and I can't click on anything within the app and have to Force Quit the app. This happening to some students and I haven't been able to recreate the issue. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks.
