MacBook Pro 13' battery life is what is used to be..

I got my MacBook about a month ago, and it has always given me at least 6 hours of battery life without charging it, as I bring it to class with me from 8:30-4. But suddenly today, when I was using it with a full charge, it only lasted me about 3 1/2 hours. Is there anything I can do, or should be doing to fix this? I'm new to Macs, so any insight would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

You can always follow the route Apple Menu > About This Mac > More Info... > System Report > Power > Battery Information for a status report on the state of the thing. Maybe even post back a snapshot so the gurus can dissect and interpret. Or install Coconut Battery (search in www.macupdate.com) or Battery Health (search the App Store) which will give you essentially the same info without having to dig thru all the menus.

That being said, such a drastic and sudden reduction usually means some app went loco and is eating away at the juice. Read thru this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1473

These batteries are supposed to retain at least 80% of their design capacity in the first 1000 charge cycles.
