Clearing the Recent Places List

When I'm working in an application and I click Save or Save As, at the bottom of the Where menu there is a list of Recent Places. This would be very handy if the list truly updated with my last 5 folders I've saved to or opened from but it never changes and I can't clear it out. Is the expected behavior that it be static or is this a bug that will be fixed?

Hello, I suspect it's a cotrrupt ref file.

If it's the one under the Apple try this...

Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.

Then move these files to the Desktop for now...

/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist

/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist

/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist

/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist

Reboot & test.
