IPad reader

My pins on my camera recently corrupted so the adapter via the USB from my camera to the iPad will not work.

The card reader on the adapter is too small for my memory card on my Canon XTI.

So I bought a Dynex reader with a USB cord.

However I get a message "the connected USB device requires too much power" when I connect to the iPad.

It works fine with the iMac,MacBook Pro,and MacBook.

Is there any USB reader which will take my card and work with the iPad which is where I primarily upload my pictures?
