What makes you think that the audiobook didn't sync? Did you look for it in the More tab of the Music App?
I just looked. Not there either.
In iTunes, you need to make sure the checkbox next to the Sync Audiobooks text is selected. If not, select it, and then click apply. Your audiobooks should start syncing.
Hope I helped.

I did that Austin but still no luck.
The iCloud emblem does not appear when in my book menu either as it does on the music menu, so I tried connecting by USB to my laptop to sync manually... Nothing and in addition to that somehow ended up losing my album artwork! Returned to iTunes clicked get album artwork & I still don't have it. This just keeps getting worse!
iCloud features downloading pre-purchased movies, music and tv shows, but they don't do audiobooks yet. Sorry but whatever device you used to buy the book needs to be plugged into your Mac so it's available on iTunes.
Well, that explains a lot! I'll try that. Maybe that would also account for why songs that I purchased with my iPod plugged into my Windows based laptop are not on my iPad?
Well, it depends on if you burned the music from a CD or not, and if your iPad is on the right account.
The answer to those to thoughts, Dino, are nope and yep.
And still don't understand why I lost my album art or how to get them back. I am like a lot of others I see on this discussion board, I do Not like the updated ITunes. I think I could have figured it out better from the old.
In you first post you asked why the audiobook could not be "synced" from your iTunes account. It can be synced from iTunes on your computer if it is in your iTunes library. In your follow up post you said that the cloud icon did not appear when looking for the book.
Syncing and downloading have two different meanings to some users. When someone says that they sync - I associate that with iTunes on your computer. That is the syncing process. "Downloading" - to me - is what I associate with transferring the content from the cloud.
So that totally explains what happned. If the content is in your iTunes library on your computer - you should be able to sync it all back to your iPad - audiobook included. However you are saying that the audiobook IS in your iTunes library on your computer and you did select it to sync?
I understand that. iCloud sync is where it's available instantly to all iCloud devices. Audiobooks are synced with iCloud so it's only available if you plug your device into the computer.
It ain't on iCloud!
I give up! Plugged my iPad into my laptop & attempted to download the book from my itunes library to my iPad. No luck. And no it definitely isn't on iCloud.
Oh we'll guess I'll have to listen to Killing Lincoln on my iPod.
Thanks for all of your suggestions anyway.
