itunes/nano not being recognized issue

i cannot get my ipod nano to be recognized by my itunes library after i downloaded the 11.0 version, i even delted my data on the nano to start over and reload from itunes but nothing is working to recognize it in itunes and "my computer" recongnizes it only, please help?!
