my ipod just went black and will not turn on also when i plug it in the laptop nothing happens please help

I was istening to my IPod the other night and it went black I thought the charge was low therefore I plugged it in and nothing happened also when I plugged it into my compter nothing happen I didnt get a popup message on the screen,could someone please help I dont know what went wrong
