how do I get the help file to show?

I used to be able to see the help file when I typed into an applications HELP/SEARCH box,

a list of help topics appear, I click one, and the help window appears,

but now I cannot see it even if I select "show all help topics" in that search box drop down suggestions area...

Ive minimized my windows, i cannot see the help file..
