I can not get the "kits" to download

I click on the "kit" and a window pops up asking me "download now" or "download later", i click "download now" and it takes me to the "updates" in the app store. It comes back saying " no current updates". I go back to garageband and click on any of the "kits" and an other window pops up saying" you have already initiated the download for this kit..." and they never download. How can i get them to download?

GarageBand (Mac) '11, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Sign first into the AppStore with the AppleID you used to buy or to accept GarageBand, and then use the "download later" button. That should send the package to the AppStore.

The download may not succeed due to several reasons. For several people several different fixes worked (resetting security questions, reinstalling, trashing preferences), see my post here

Re: Extra instruments and Loops doesn't download

and look at the link at the bottom to Dagon's post on reinstalling.

Did iLife come preinstalled? Then you need to accept them to your user iD.

  1. Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
  2. Enter your Apple ID and password.
  3. Click Purchases.
  4. If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
  5. You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.

You may not be able to "Accept" or not see them if a previous owner of your Mac already accepted them, or if you are using a different AppleID.
