i have an iphone $ which wont support iOS 6.0...how do i update it and what OS should i udate it to?
The only iPHones that don't support iOS 6 is the first iPHone and the iPhone 3G...which can only be update to iOS 4.2.1, so if that's the iPHone you have, you can't run iOS 5.
You don't. You can only download and install the current version of iOS for your device. For the 3GS, 4, and 4S, that's 6.0.1. For the 5, it's 6.0.2. For the 3G, it's 4.2.1. I believe the last version that will run on the original iPhone is 3.1.3, but I'd have to double check that.
iOS 5 is no longer signed by Apple and can not be installed.
Iphone 4 will indeed support ios 6.
You don't have a choice. If you own a 3GS, 4 or 4S, iOS 6.0.1 will be installed. An iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.2. If an iPhone 3G, iOS 4.2.1 is the end of the line, there are no further updates available.
